The event queue
The event queue is very important in discrete event simulations, as we already discussed shortly in Discrete Event Simulation. Now we are ready to look into it more closely.
When you start a simulation, the event queue is showing you the currently scheduled events in the simulation, like this:

On the left, you see the events as a list and on the top, you see them visually in a line. This is very useful for debugging and confirming at any point of the simulation that the correct events and the correct amount of events are scheduled.
Remember: The event queue includes ALL events from all nodes in the simulation. The events are self messages and messages to others.
Once the event queue is empty, there is nothing more to do and the simulation will stop automatically with the message "No more events".
